The Data Manager position is part of the Strategic Pricing analytical team which is responsible for the tools and governance to support Retail Pricing.

Specifically this role manages the data needs of the department, stages analytical datasets, and coordinates use of these data across the analytic teams.

This position works collaboratively within Retail Pricing and with key business partners, such as Knowledge Management, MIS, Risk Management and Corporate Performance Measurement to meet or exceed LOB and organizational objectives.

Functions Unique to Position:

Manages the data needs of the deposit, lending and performance improvement analytical teams; develops a shared vision for the optimal data structure and executes that vision; identifies storage and retrieval solutions that can be leveraged across the department.

Performs data acquisition and validation activities necessary to support statistical analysis and financial modeling.

Automates ongoing responsibilities such as Static Pool Analysis and Time Series Performance measurement.

Assists in the development of analytical standards, spreadsheet tools and process to be leveraged across business lines.

Consults with business and performance improvement analysts and coordinates data mining activities across department; provides training on data structures as appropriate.

Serves as a department liaison with regard to data needs, and coordinates activities with business partners where appropriate.

Performs ad hoc analysis and reporting as necessary.

Position Scope:

Responsible for assessing long-term data needs of the department and developing and executing a vision for sourcing analytical data.

Responsible for sourcing and maintaining the platform on which analytical data will reside and be utilized.

Responsible for proactively developing access to large volumes of data for use by analytical teams.

May perform analysis to support both consumer and business loan and deposit products with the following characteristics as of September 2009:

a.Consumer Loans (includes Credit Card) $31.8B b.Consumer Deposits - $108.2B c.Business Loans - $11.5B d.Business Deposits - $19.3B

Responsible for developing process to automate on going responsibilities of the analytical team such as acquiring data, data validation and integrity, static pool analysis and reporting.

Also responsible for developing standards for such activities.

Coordinates with Business Analysts, Performance Improvement Analysts and Pricing Managers to ensure data and analytical needs of the business are being addressed.
