The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami Medical Group, has an opening for an Executive Director, Revenue Cycle. The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle for the University of Miami Health System will be responsible for creating and promoting an environment of leadership and direction for the Health System revenue cycle. The Executive Director will be responsible for the leadership, management, financial and efficient performance of the revenue cycle functions of the Clinical Departments, University of Miami Hospital and Clinics/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMHC/SCCC), Anne Bates Leach Eye Hospital (ABLEH) and University of Miami Hospital (UMH). They will also oversee the Patient Financial Service Office, Central Insurance Verification Office, Physician Referral Office, and the Community Health Delivery System Billing and Collections functions, which includes 180 full time employees.. The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle will monitor, analyze and stay current with trends and regulatory issues in physician and hospital receivables management and related reimbursement issues for potential organizational impact; report Health System Revenue Cycle performance to leadership and committees; provides leadership in working with senior executives to deploy a service excellence approach to the flow of all revenue cycle components throughout the system; clearly defines, establishes and communicates revenue cycle performance expectations to staff in order to achieve goals in the areas of patient access, coding of revenue, collections and customer satisfaction.rector of Revenue Cycle for the University of Miami Health System will be responsible for creating and promoting an environment of leadership and direction for the Health System revenue cycle. Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting or a related field is required. Masters Degree is preferred. Ten years of proven, progressive experience in healthcare receivables management including experience in a complex healthcare delivery system. Knowledge of governing regulations and standards relating to healthcare billing, collections, customer service and registration. Ability to work in a complex environment with the skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines, establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve stated goals. Ability to analyze, assimilate and proactive anticipate factors with potential organizational receivables and reimbursement impact. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP) and regulations for non-profit institutions. Knowledge of accounts receivable information systems and subsystems. Strong problem solving and continuous improvement skills. Strong managerial performance motivating and developing professional staff. Ability to work as a team or independently. Appreciation for organizational subtleties and a high level of discretion. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Customer service experience and focus. Ability to learn quickly and eagerness to grow. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
